This section features a series of stories that highlight “great moments” or “fantastic experiences” that occurred over my years as an explorer of the Cyprus’ diverse landscapes. Some of these stories happened during or as a result of my years working in the Canadian Palaipaphos Survey Project. Others during the time of creating and running excursions for EXALT (EXcursion ALTernatives), a small Paphos-based excursion company that was founded in the late 1980s and to which I was centrally involved during all of the 1990s – early 2000s. Great days, magnificent times, and wilderness landscapes that were healthier and more wild than today. So this is partly archaeology of the landscape, partly about appreciating “off-the-beaten-track” tourism and partly pure nostalgia.
